Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children

I read Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children and  recommend it. It’s listed as a young adult book, but it has a depth to it that I found amazing. It starts with the death of the narrator’s grandfather and draws us back and forth in time and space. The pictures in the book are eery and each one has a story. It’s a hero’s journey book, full of good and evil.

The others I mentioned in my list are still waiting for me but that doesn’t mean I haven’t read anything. In fact,  I’ve got a few others to recommend: a new author’s first book; a series of Norwegian thrillers; an Australian writer whose books are so readable they’re hard to put down; three writers who never fail to capture me.
